January 2011

My beautiful daughters,
How time flies, you are both growing so fast. Emily is almost 4 1/2 and Natalie is almost 1 year old.
Emily, you have blossomed into a lovely little girl, very intelligent, with a wonderful thought process beyond your years. You already write your name, beautifully and you love pre-school. We have you at the best Montessori school I could find. You have learned so much there and I am hoping this will help you in the years to come. You say you want to be a doctor and a teacher when you grow up. That is wonderful, that's why we are already saving for your and Natalie's college education.
Natalie, you are a joy of a baby. You are happy, smiley, and so smart! You are big for your age, already wearing 18-24 months old clothes. But no walking for you yet, which is okay. Emily only walked when she was 16 months, almost 17, so I am guessing you will take your time to walk as well. You already talk some. You say mama, emma, dada, nene... We love hearing your little voice! You sleep through the night wonderfully, you are a wonderful baby Natalie!

Natalie is 6 months

Hi my beautiful Natalie,
You are 6 months old and growing so fast. I just came back from the doctor and you are on the 96 percentile for height (27.75 inches) and 66 percentile for weight (16 pounds and 9 oz). You are a bubbly baby, happy and talkative, we are so happy to have you in our lives! What a joyful baby you are!

Emily's 4!!!

Our sweet Emily, you are four years old! How time flies. You are this beautiful, inteligent and active little girl and Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!
This year you are into princesses. You love Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Ballerinas, so the theme of your birthday party this year is Disney Princesses.
We had a small b-day party on your b-day at home with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma made you this cute little Disney Princess dress, and gave you books, and clothes. Grandpa wrote you a beautiful poem and gave you coloring books. Mommy and Daddy gave you a bumble bee pillow pet and a wooden Cinderella with clothes to change. You loved all your gifts and were so grateful.
We also sent you a happy b-day card via the Sprout Channel, they showed your picture and the card several times on their programming. The card said:

Happy 4th Birthday Sweet Emily
You are our favorite ballerina!
We love you,
Mommy, Daddy and Natty

Here is a recap of your birthdays so far:
First Birthday, this was a big party with over 60 people, we had the "first birthday" theme and catered fancy food. You were too small to remember and in retrospect I wish we had waited until you were older to give you a big party.
Second Birthday, we had a small party at home with Grandma, Grandpa, Vovo and Vovoh. The theme was "Winnie the Pooh", your favorite at the time. You were a little too small to fully understand, but you had fun.
Third Birthday, we had a small party at home with Grandma and Grandpa. The theme was "Dora the Explorer", your favorite on that year. You loved the party, already understanding and having a blast.
Fourth Birthday, in addition to the small b-day party at home, we are having a party at the DuPage Children's Museum. There will be close to 20 children at your party and the theme is "Disney Princesses" your favorite this year. I will update this post after your party!

Early morning with Natalie

My dear Natalie,
You are three months old and already sleeping through the night since you were about two months. Today you woke up around 5:30 in the morning, very hungry, but you do not cry and complain, you just stay there moving around so I know you are awake. When I come by your crib, you give this big grin, so happy, it melts my heart. You drink your milk and we then enjoy a sweet time together, just the two of us. Emily is still sleeping, daddy is at the gym working out and the two of us hang out on my bed, cuddling and talking. You already talk, I know it is baby talk, but you have such an entonation in the sounds you make and expression in your face that I am sure I can understand what you want to say! You express so well when you are content, when you are mad (especially when we are doing tummy time, which is not your favorite activity).
My sweet and beautiful Natalie, mamae loves you so much, you bring so much joy into our lives and complete our family. Thank you for coming into the world and making our lives so much brighter.

Picnic with Emily

My dear Emily,
I wanted to post here this sweet memory I have of both of us having a picnic together. It is the World cup 2010, you are three months shy of 4 years old. Everyone (Vovo and Vovoh are here with us) is watching the Brazilian team play and you are so bored, so I decide to take you on a picnic at the neighborhood park. You are so excited, we pack a little snack, a blanket and off we go. We seat next to each other on the blanket and have our snack and talk and you are so happy to be near me. I am delighted to have such a wonderful moment with you, you are a sweet and special girl and I am so privileged and honored to be your mother. I know that you are growing up so fast and soon enough you may not want to seat with me and talk just the two of us, but I do want to tell you that I will always be there for you to talk and listen and not judge. I love you my sweet, beautiful Emily!

Emily and Pedicure

Emily,
You always loved pedicures. You actually started on the eve of Natalie's birth. My Mom was doing a pedicure on me and you wanted one too... You loved it and we took a picture to remember. Later on, you wanted nail polish but as soon as you got it, you wanted it off. So, you asked for the marshmallows (cotton balls) to take it off. It was so cute, marshmallows for cotton balls. You have such a big vocabulary for your age, I am always amazed!

Baby Natalie

My Dear Natalie,
You are now almost 4 months old. How time flies, I planned on posting more often, but I haven't really been writing much.
You are such a beautiful and smart baby! When you were born on the first day at the hospital I already could tell that you were so alert and looked so much older than a baby just a few hours old. You lifted your head up and looked around like you wanted to see the world you had landed in. You started smiling and laughing early, before your two month mark. How I love your smile when you see me. Although you smile to all of us (Daddy, Emily, Vovo, Vovoh, Grandma and Grandpa). Your first chuckle was to Daddy, you really love hanging out with Daddy and laughing with him.
You already love watching TV, I know I am not supposed to let you watch but Emmy already watches and you love it.
